A new partnership was born only a year ago, when designer Rama
Chorpash met the Djavaheri
sisters, founders of CulinHome™, at the New York Gourmet
Show. Through conversation, sparked by their modern stovetop
samovar, mutual values and ideals were shared, on how design
is not only a product but also a conduit to meaningful experiences.
CulinHome’s new name (previously CulinArt) and mission
statement reflect the company’s
philosophy of producing contemporary product lines focused
on how users cook and create in the home.
Sepi and Shoshana Djavaheri,
two sisters who were raised in an old family business of kitchen,
houseware design and manufacturing, founded CulinHomeTM. With
an innate understanding of the needs of the consumer, the
Djavaheri sisters created the CulinHomeTM line with a unique
international approach, combining German, Italian and Persian
elements into their state of the art designs.
In support of this effort, CulinHome™ is pleased to
announce its new Creative Director,
Rama Chorpash. Rama has designed for Herman
Miller, Cisneros Group, Carlos Miele and Swatch
Watch. His work has been exhibited in The Museum of Modern
Art, Bienal da Prata Portugal, NY
Public Art Fund as well as Miami Basel design05. He’s
been included in ID Magazine's Annual
Design Review, IDEA Good Design (Industrial Design Excellence
Award) Business Week. Projects have been featured in numerous
publications including: The New York Times, Vogue Brazil,
Surface, Architectual Record, The International Design Yearbook,
ABC's Good Morning America, Oprah Winfrey and Discovery Channel.
He works out of his NY atelier, and is slated to be the Chair
of the Industrial design Department Fall 06, University of
the Arts.
